These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and FinWize ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the FinWize mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, downloading, accessing, or using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, incorporated herein by reference.
2. Eligibility and Account Registration
2.1 Age Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old to use FinWize. By using our Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2.2 Account Registration
To access certain features, you must create an account by providing accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Immediately notifying us of any unauthorized use
- Ensuring your account information remains accurate and up-to-date
2.3 Account Security
We recommend using strong passwords and enabling two-factor authentication. You agree not to share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
3. Service Description
3.1 FinWize Services
FinWize provides financial planning tools with both free and premium features:
Free Features:
- Manual Transaction Management: Input, categorize, and track income and expenses
- Recurring Transaction Management: Set up and manage recurring income and expense patterns
- Balance Forecasting: Generate up to 36-month financial projections
- Spending Capacity Analysis: Calculate safe spending amounts and budget insights
- Basic Scenario Planning: Create 1 what-if financial scenario
- Local Data Storage: All data stored securely on your device
- Optional Cloud Backup: Backup and restore via Firebase (authenticated users)
Premium Features (Subscription Required):
- AI Financial Health Analysis: Comprehensive health scoring (0-100) using Google Gemini AI
- AI Spending Recommendations: Personalized spending and savings recommendations
- AI Scenario Insights: Advanced analysis and risk assessment of financial scenarios
- Unlimited Scenarios: Create unlimited what-if planning sessions
- Advanced Analytics: Enhanced forecasting and financial insights
3.2 Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
4.1 Permitted Use
You may use FinWize for personal financial management purposes only. Commercial use requires a separate commercial license.
4.2 Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Share false, misleading, or deceptive information
5. Financial Data and Manual Input
5.1 Manual Data Entry
Important: FinWize does NOT connect to banks or financial institutions. All financial data is manually entered by you.
By using FinWize, you acknowledge that:
- Data Accuracy: You are solely responsible for the accuracy of all financial information you enter
- Data Completeness: The quality of forecasts and analysis depends on the completeness of your data
- Manual Updates: You must manually update transaction and balance information
- No Real-Time Sync: FinWize cannot automatically detect changes in your actual bank accounts
5.2 Third-Party Services We Use
FinWize integrates with the following third-party services to provide features:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, analytics, and optional cloud backup storage
- Google Gemini AI: AI-powered financial analysis for Premium users
- RevenueCat: Subscription and payment processing for Premium features
These integrations are subject to the respective third-party terms and privacy policies.
AI Data Processing Consent
By using Premium AI features, you explicitly consent to:
- Sending your financial transaction data, balances, and spending patterns to Google Gemini AI
- Google processing your financial data to generate insights, recommendations, and analysis
- Temporary caching of AI responses on your device for performance (automatically cleared within 20 minutes)
- Google's AI terms of service and data handling practices
You can opt out by using only local features and avoiding Premium AI functionality.
5.3 Data Storage and Backup
- Local Storage: All financial data is primarily stored locally on your device
- Optional Cloud Backup: Authenticated users can optionally backup data to Firebase Storage
- Data Control: You have full control over your data and can export or delete it at any time
- Offline Functionality: Core features work entirely offline without internet connection
6. Intellectual Property Rights
6.1 Our Intellectual Property
FinWize and all related content, including but not limited to software, algorithms, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks, are owned by or licensed to us and protected by intellectual property laws.
6.2 Limited License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use FinWize for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
6.3 User Data
You retain ownership of your personal and financial data. By using our Service, you grant us a limited license to use this data to provide and improve our services as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Subscription and Payment Terms
7.1 Freemium Model
FinWize operates on a freemium model:
- Free Tier: Core financial planning features available at no cost
- Premium Tier: Advanced AI-powered features requiring paid subscription
- Free Limitations: Free users can create 1 scenario session (Premium users get unlimited)
- Anonymous Usage: Free features available without account creation
7.2 Premium Subscription
Premium subscriptions are processed through RevenueCat and include:
- AI Financial Health Analysis: Comprehensive health scoring using Google Gemini AI
- AI Recommendations: Personalized spending and savings advice
- AI Scenario Insights: Advanced risk analysis of financial scenarios
- Unlimited Scenarios: No limit on what-if planning sessions
- Priority Support: Enhanced customer support
7.3 Billing and Payments
- Payment Processing: All payments processed securely through RevenueCat and Apple/Google app stores
- Recurring Billing: Premium subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
- Pricing: Current subscription prices are displayed in the app
- Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers
- Taxes: Applicable taxes are handled by the app store
7.4 Cancellation and Refunds
- Cancellation: Cancel subscriptions through your Apple/Google app store account settings
- Access Period: Premium features remain accessible until the end of the current billing period
- Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple/Google according to their respective policies
- Free Trial: If applicable, free trials can be cancelled before the trial period ends
- Downgrade: Upon cancellation, account reverts to free tier with feature limitations
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices.

- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Service interruptions or data loss
- Financial decisions based on app information
- Third-party actions or service failures
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FinWize and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of third parties
- Your breach of any applicable laws or regulations
11. Termination
11.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by following the instructions in the app or contacting customer support.
11.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
- Fail to pay subscription fees
- Pose a security risk to our systems or other users
11.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your access to the Service will cease immediately
- We may delete your account and data after a reasonable retention period
- You may export your data before account deletion
- Outstanding payment obligations remain in effect
12. Dispute Resolution
12.1 Governing Law

Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

We are not liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, or government actions.
